Sharon asks…

Flash indexing problem with Google?

I have a site built in flash. The problem is that in the search
results I am getting the SWF file under the main page in the search
index.

I don’t want to do a robots txt disallow because then my swf which
contains the entire site wont get indexed, and all my keywords
wouldn’t get searched.

I want to keep the swf in google index but not have it show up
directly below the main page.

Here is a link to the search to show what is happening. My site is
www.theolivetreechef.com. My site is 2nd.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

admin answers:

It’s the cost of building your site in Flash. There isn’t really anything you can do about it.

Ask The Experts About Robot Kit Soldering

Linda asks…

warnings on package of solder?

i’ve never soldered anything before but decided to learn so i could make a really basic robot from a kit. the package says not to smell this stuff, as well as to wash your hands extensively after touching the actual solder as well as of course, not eating it. so i suppose my questions are since i obviously smelled it while i was working on it, is this dangerous, as it didn’t seem avoidable? i also was wondering exactly how well i should really have to clean my hands and such after working on it to eat something, as i’m fairly paranoid and would rather be safe than sorry. also, what happens when this stuff is dry? does it still hold the same dangers, (ex: should i have to wash my hands after i touch it before i eat anything?) how intense i guess the question is are the warnings about lead poisoning and cancer, as those seem like fairly significant risks that should be considered. anything else i really should know would be helpful too!

admin answers:

The warnings are more to protect the manufacturer and the seller than they are to protect you. I’ve been soldering stuff since I was a kid and am now in my 30′s, never had a problem. I don’t think you can get lead poisoning from it either, maybe if you eat a few buckets of it you’ll have something to worry about, but other than that your fine. Most solder made today is actually lead free, check around online a bit and you’ll see.

Some tips; don’t touch it when its hot, as well as don’t touch the soldering iron, don’t put it near your face when working with it, let everything cool before handling. Thats it. I soldered my sons glasses back together a couple days ago too. Smelling won’t kill you, of course don’t intentionally snort it up, but its unavoidable to smell something thats right in front of you, if it really worries or bothers you than wear a mask. You’d be harmed more from driving on the highway with the windows down in traffic.
